Katherine Henderson

Katherine Henderson is an Associate, Sustainable Planning and Development with Cherokee and helps lead the company’s corporate environmental and sustainability programs. She works in close collaboration with deal teams to maximize the environmental, social and economic benefits of Cherokee projects. Prior to joining Cherokee, Ms. Henderson worked as an environmental scientist for Woodard & Curran, an engineering firm headquartered in Portland, Maine. While at Woodard & Curran, she worked on various environmental lawsuits, property transfers and hazardous waste cleanup projects, and was an active member of the company’s Sustainability Initiative. Ms. Henderson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Literature from New York University where she was a Sir Harold Acton scholar. Ms. Henderson received a Master of Regional Planning in City & Regional Planning with a focus in Land Use and Sustainable Development from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was an NC Beautiful Moore fellow. While at UNC, she received the American Institute of Certified Planners Outstanding Student Award and a GEAB Recognition Award. Ms. Henderson is a LEED-AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) with the U.S. Green Building Council.
