David O’Neill is Vice President of Corporate Communications and External Affairs for Cherokee. Prior to joining Cherokee in 2007, he was the executive director of the Chesapeake Bay Trust, a private, non-profit, organization based in Annapolis, MD. In this capacity, Mr. O’Neill was responsible for leading the organization’s grant and communication programs, strategic projects, and legislative initiatives. He also contributed to public policy working with federal and state agencies, and private interests. Prior to joining the Trust, Mr. O’Neill was the Director of Land Use Policy and Outreach for the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He led the Institute’s national outreach program and advanced smart growth policies nationwide. He also authored ULI publications and articles on smart growth and spoke on the topic in cities across the U.S. and in Europe. Mr. O’Neill began his career as a fellow in the Chesapeake Research Consortium Fellowship program. He received a BA from North Carolina Wesleyan College. Mr. O’Neill and his wife have two children.
